BookAOnline offers Health Professionals a more efficient and convenient way for patients to book appointments. It’s the future in appointment scheduling. Patients can book an appointment that is convenient for them, whilst health professionals are able to control and maintain their timetable 24/7 through BookAOnline.
Participating clinics and health professionals have 24/7 access to their own calendars to view bookings and make changes to their calendar(s). This can be done offsite.

How reliable is the software?
Our booking software is powered by GObookings Systems and is protected by 256/128 bit SSL encryption. Clients who use GObookings software include the Australian government. We deter bogus bookings by allowing subscriber clinics to determine the maximum number of bookings that can be made per day or per session from any IP address.
What are the costs for me to use BookAOnline?

What is the protection against nuisance bookings and the process for booking cancellations?
When patients book through BookAOnline they must give their email address and name. Other parameters can be set by you for extra security. You can for example require disclosure of patients’ mobile telephone numbers. We deter bogus bookings through additional security features. Users of BookAOnline must comply and accept our Terms of Use when making a booking binding them legally for the responsibility of their scheduled appointments. We are also able to track IP Addresses when bookings are made and have in place domain name validation software which verifies an emails domain name authenticity.
The BookAOnline SMS or email confirmation process enables participating clinics and/or health professionals to change or cancel appointments via a timely and cost efficient process. Our system also sends an e-mail notification to the subscriber every time an appointment has been made or cancelled.
It’s also easy for patients to cancel and rebook, which helps to reduce the number of “no shows”.
What’s the compatibility with our Practice Management Software (PMS)?
BookAOnline is synchronised with your practice appointment software. Our system automatically communicates with your current computerised appointment software ensuring you don’t need to do anything more to link our website to your existing system. Currently we’re compatible with Best Practice, Houston Medical, Clinic Director and eClaims (ACSS). Patients can view online a subscriber’s calendar, book an available appointment and also receive (at the clinic’s discretion) an email or SMS reminder. Patients have the ability to search by Name of the clinic or professional, by Locality, by Profession or sub-specialty. These options allow users to be as specific as they want in trying to find and choose convenient appointments.
How safe are my personal details?
Our booking software is powered by GObookings Systems and is protected by 256/128 bit SSL encryption. Clients who use GObookings software include the Australian government. Information collected from your appointment booking is stored directly onto the practice’s system. We only collect information for the purposes of identifying fraudulent appointment bookings, confirming bookings, or allowing clinics to contact you in case an appointment needs to be changed. What is to stop another individual booking the same appointment time as me?
There is no possibility of two individuals booking the same appointment time. The system operates in real time and will only register a booking with the first person to book.
How certain is it that the doctor will see me?
By booking your appointment through BookAOnline your scheduled appointment is automatically synchronized to the practice management software. You will be sent a confirmation email or SMS containing your booking reference number. The clinic will also be sent an email confirming that a booking has been made. There is no chance of a double booking.
How will I know if the clinic has to cancel the appointment?
If your clinic needs to cancel an appointment they will make contact with you via email or telephone.
Why not just phone my clinic like I have done in the past?
BookAOnline allows you to book a convenient appointment from amongst the available appointment times. You are able to search for and book appointments that suit your schedule. It’s convenient and free. You can now book your appointments 24 /7 regardless of whether the clinic is open or not when you decide to make the booking. There’s no more waiting to get through during busy times. |
